Mena Alexa Suvari was born on the 29th of September, 1979. She is an American fashion designer, model and actress. She started her modeling career in 1990 and soon moved to acting after guest appearances on television series like Boy Meets World or High Incident. In 1997 she made her acting debut as an actor in the film Nowhere. Her performances in American Beauty, for which she received the BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie led to her being the subject of more interest. Her next appearance was in Loser (2000), with American Pie actor Jason Biggs. She was later the lead character in Sugar & Spice (2002). She also appeared in Spun the independent drama and in 2004's thriller Trauma. Her other appearances include HBO's comedy Six Feet Under. In 2008 her filmography included Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh The version of The Garden of Eden and a number of other films. Suvari has appeared in many blog and fashion publications, including Vogue. She's an official Lancome model as well as appearing in ads in print in Lancome Paris Adaptive. Suvari has been a loyal supporter and activist for the esteemed African relief organisation, known as the African Medical and Research Foundation. In addition, she has been involved on issues of empowerment and empowerment of women as well as charities which promote research into breast cancer as well as End Violence Against Women.
